The villa was an elegant and cozy stay for Our group. The house itself is very inviting and Barbara adds to that with her super welcoming and helpful manor. She went above and beyond for us in many ways including making sure we had snacks as she knew we were arriving after all stores would be closed, great tips of what to see and do and her aunt made us dinner one night for a super reasonable offer!!

Just had an absolutely superb week at Villa Vanelia Mare, with 6 of my University girlfriends, celebrating our 60th birthdays. Barbara couldn’t do enough for us and made us feel really welcome. The villa is gorgeous – built by Barbara’s Dad and the beautiful interior was designed and furnished by Barbara’s Mum. Barbara’s Aunty Matoula came in one night and cooked us a delicious Greek feast – moussaka, cheese and spinach pastries and of course Greek salad! So a real family affair! Kalamaki beach is just a skip down the hill and the beach bars and restaurants are all fabulous. The waiters are so friendly and the food and service are wonderful. Cannot recommend highly enough!! We will be back!!

Where do I even begin? Our recent stay at this Villa was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped foot onto the property until the day we sadly departed, every aspect of our experience surpassed our expectations and left us with incredible memories. The location was simply breathtaking. Nestled in a private street just moments from the water, surrounded by trees and colorful plants/flowers, this Airbnb offered a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We had such a lovely, relaxing holiday at the villa. The views are stunning and the table out on the terrace is a wonderful spot to sit out and enjoy dinner. Barbara is a brilliant host – it was lovely to meet her in person and she gave us some great recommendations of places to eat and days out. She was able to help us organise a day trip from the villa to hike Samaria gorge and even arranged for her aunt to come and cook some absolutely delicious Cretan food for us one evening (cannot recommend this highly enough). The villa and the local area were amazing for our two year old – she absolutely loved the nearby Kalamaki beach. Barbara’s mum very kindly agreed to come and babysit one evening so that we could all go out for dinner, which was so appreciated. We can’t wait to come back!!

We’re a family of 8 plus a little baby. The villa was perfect. Very spacious and beautifully laid out. The pool was amazing! Barbara is a friendly and generous host who genuinely wants your stay to be the best she can make it. She arranged our transfer to and from the airport and took us shopping to the super market when we got there pointing out places to eat on the way. Barbara will attend to anything you need. We found the location perfect. It’s on a quiet road with stunning views of the nearby mountains on one side, and the sea on the other. You can walk down to the front in 10 minutes, easy with a pushchair too, where you can find restaurants and shops.
